Hello everyone, Ben Lifton here from the UK, and today I'm thrilled to explore some exciting lighting technology. I've had the pleasure of testing two impressive units from GVM: the M20C portable light and the G200 studio light. Let's dive into what makes these lights stand out.
Let's start with the GVM M20C. This compact powerhouse delivers at 20 watts, far exceeding similar lights like the Jobby Nibble Lights (which only run at 5 watts). What does this mean for you? Versatility. Whether you're shooting video or photos, this light has the strength you need.
This allows you to paint your scenes with virtually any color you desire. And it's Bluetooth-enabled! This means you can control it from your smartphone, adjust settings, and sync multiple lights for stunning effects.
The build quality is top-notch, as expected from GVM. The metal barn doors and magnetic diffuser add durability and versatility. Plus, it's compact enough to throw a couple in your bag for on-the-go setups.
Now, onto the GVM G200 studio light. This one's a true powerhouse. Despite its size, it boasts a massive fan for efficient cooling. Even at 15% intensity, the fan is barely audible, a testament to its design.
What really impressed me was the separate control unit. While unconventional, it's a game-changer. The light itself is lighter and easier to handle on a stand. The build quality is exceptional, comparable to more expensive units.
And let's not forget the G200's whisper-quiet operation—a filmmaker's dream.
In conclusion, both the M20C and G200 from GVM are fantastic additions to any videographer or photographer's toolkit. Stay tuned on my socials for upcoming shoots featuring these lights—I can't wait to share the results!
